Each semester the Illinois Distributed Museum accepts applications for student interns. We work with the history department at the University of Illinois to offer interns course credit, but are open to any students who would like to intern.
We have three internships available.
Exhibit Writing intern: You will get to write several exhibits for the Illinois Distributed Museum. These are short 400-500 word articles about one innovator or innovation. We have a variety of topics that need to be written about so there is something for everyone!
Social Media intern: The Illinois Distributed Museum currently has a Facebook and Instagram account. You will work on creating posts from content on the IDM website and learn about social media for cultural institutions.
Tour Guide intern: You will work on creating your own tour around a central theme. You will then have the option to present your tour at the end of the semester during Undergraduate Research week in April 2025. These tours will be open to the public.
Check back in April for the link to apply to be a summer intern.
